The END has come for the Oxcroft Colliery Branch Line in Derbyshire – a once vital piece of railway and industrial history. This abandoned railway once served the busy Oxcroft Colliery, carrying countless coal trains across Derbyshire. For nearly 20 years the line lay silent, overgrown, and forgotten. Now, the final traces of this disused railway are being erased as bridges are demolished, the trackbed is bulldozed, and new distribution centres and industrial estates rise where the railway once ran. In this video we revisit the Oxcroft Branch, combining footage from my earlier explorations along the line with my latest visit to see demolition crews tearing into the old infrastructure. We start at the once vast Seymour Junction and yard and walk our way up the former line. From a once-intact arch bridge now partially demolished, to excavators ploughing through the route of the railway, this is the story of how a lost railway is finally being consigned to history. Whether you’re fascinated by UK railway history, colliery railways, abandoned infrastructure, or the changing landscape of Derbyshire’s industrial past, this video documents the transformation of the Oxcroft Colliery Branch Line from coal transport lifeline to forgotten relic – and now, to redevelopment. Join me as we explore one of Derbyshire’s lost railways before it disappears forever. ***Link to previous video*** Become a channel member - https://www.youtube.com/wobblyrunner/...
