Scottish Ceilidh as crowds join in Dashing White Sergeant at Pitlochry New Year 2026 Street Party

A great way to keep warm and celebrate as crowds joined in dancing the Dashing White Sergeant, during the 2026 Pitlochry New Year Street Party. This annual event on New Year’s Day is held on Atholl Road outside Fishers Hotel in Pitlochry, with compere Alan Brown, displays by The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band and the public joining in the street ceilidh, with music from the West Telferton Caledonian Dance Band, led by Andrew Knight and Lindsey Weir. It was just starting to snow here in Pitlochry during the Ceilidh. The dance is in 4/4 time reel, performed by groups of six dancers and after each turn of the dance, the couple at the top finish one place further down.
