This was, as far as I could find back then, the only video that let players hear how the battle plays out, to help train them for the big fight at the end.) Now a relic of the far past, when most of us were still in diapers back then... oh who am I kidding we still are. Tis the life of the average hardcore mmo player after all! =D BAAFROOM!!! BAAAFROOOOM!!! Anyways, this video is very old. Runescape has had many severe cosmetic make-overs since. This video is mainly being left up for curious players who wonder what it used to be like- it was quite different back then. Heck, when I started it was shortly after RS2 had just come out, you still had to click the fish, then the stove to cook them, 1 at a time... Oh and the nice fellows at jagex would ban you if you used a macro to assist with that! They were desperate to give everyone carpel tunnel or something back then. Getting a fire cape in the newer versions of runescape got easier. This used to be a hard fight... What made it hard? The long 1-3 hours of trash mob fighting you had to do, before the boss spawned... if you died... you started ALL OVER AGAIN. It cost back then, about 100-200k gold in supplies as you needed many expensive prayer restore potions and arrows. Not only did you lose money from using up supplies, but the time lost doing the fight was time you could have spent making money doing other things. TIME IS MONEY in runescape. So time wasn't all that made it hard... You also had to contend with lots or monsters to get to him, making this very difficult for players who had low defense skill. But the hardest thing of all, was the UI back then! What a nightmare. There were no hotkeys for changing which window tab you had open. You had to use your mouse to go from spell list, to inventory and such. To attack monsters higher level then you, you had to right click then select the attack option. Everytime you had to change a protection spell you had to once again, right click tok jad and select attack again. So in this fight there are lots of UI things to juggle while trying to pay attention and change to the correct protection. You only get a brief moment to change in time, 1 mistake and BOOM! you could be dead and just hours of work, and hundreds of thousands of gold in supplies and wasted time. All to win a stupid cape that was only 4 points in several stats! I think back, just how easy it could have been with hotkeys. A more modern UI would have made this a pretty easy fight. It is humbling to think, runescape was such an amazing and addictive game, I was able to play it for nearly 4 years despite all the problems, terrible ui, and low quality graphics. I didn't even last 1 year in Warcraft. Runescape was my first MMO, so it ruined all other mmo's for me... they were just too darn shallow compared to RS. They don't make MMO's like this anymore, and that's a good thing. I got my life back! JUST LOOK HOW FAT I AM NOW with my person portrait picture! RUNESCAPE DID THIS TO ME! I AM FAT NOW! WHAAAAAA!!! WHAAAAAA!!! NOBODY LOVES ME! WHAAAAAAA! =,( Anyhoot... that's why I got lots of claims of MOPAR scape, and other such ignorant comments, for anyone wondering. This video was made when runescape was much more primitive and had far fewer protection spells and different graphics. old text- TZTOK-JAD!!! The ultimate monster in runescape! I died at him 5 times before achieving victory on my 6th try at combat level 108 (december 2005), and I was quite happy!. Then at lvl 120 I decided to slay tztok-jad again for fun (and tokkul). I took a video of that fight, and won on my first try =). Jad is the highest level (702) monster in runescape, capable of hitting 90+ damage (instant kill for most) if you are not quick enough on changing protection prayers. I was hit for 80 damage in this fight, but amazingly I was able to keep my cool and win! It took me 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to tztok jad at this level (120-using the dragon halberd on all 360 and 180 monsters) Which is why I had way too many super restore potions. kngwarior dances with me (perfectly synched) at the end of this movie. This was unscripted, (I don't even know who that is, other then by name lol) so what incredible luck! I hope this video helps others in their quest to slay the vile beast! ENJOY =-)
