The Gotha-Ursinus G.I was a bomber with a rather unconventional design. Designed in 1914 it had been made to fill a roll many today would call a "gun ship", it's purpose being to bring local firepower supremacy via ground attack using its two gunner positions. The idea would ultimately fail, but it spawned the infamous "Gotha" line of German heavy bombers, culminating in the Gotha G.IV and G.V which took part in the first London blitz in 1917.
