Big thanks to Dragone Classic Motorcars for this video check them out: https://www.dragoneclassic.com/ for a full inventory of PreWar and post war Classics! To Submit a video of your own email us at: PreWarMotoring@gmail.com Packard had built a fine reputation building high priced motorcars aimed at a sophisticated but slightly reserved crowd. But for 1930 Packard flipped the script offering the rakish and fast 734 Speedster. A car that seems more likely to have been built by Stutz or even Duesenberg. Maybe it was the depression that forced Packard to experiment to stay alive, or maybe honestly they lost their minds a little. But whatever the cause the effect is known. A breathtaking speedster that ranks among the absolute best of the Classic era. The aggressive rear fenders compliment the boattail rear end perfectly and the distinct Packard front grill signifies the pinnacle of automotive design. And the interior is so finely appointed with the passenger seat being offset for better visibility. And the car is not all show no go. This automobile is capable of going over 100 miles an hour in an era when a Ford Model A would be sweating to go 60 mils an hour. But sadly this car was not long for Packard or the world. The car would only last one year never to return again. Facebook: / vintageantiqueautomobiles Instagram: / prewar_motoring
