Train to Koblenz Along the Rhine River

The most scenic train ride we've taken is the train to Koblenz along the Rhine River. We travel by train from Heidelberg Germany to the beautiful Upper Middle Rhine Valley, and then on to Koblenz. This stretch of the Rhine Valley is declared a UNESCO world heritage site. It is packed with magnificent medieval castles which can be clearly seen from the train. As we approach Koblenz we are lucky enough to see many of these castles. As it turned out an old man sitting near us was a train driver here for 30 years and knows every medieval castle by name. He described some interesting facts about each Rhein River Castle along the journey. If you ever want to see a World Heritage area as well as many beautiful castles from a train, take the train to Koblenz along the Rhine Valley. You won't be disappointed!
