CYCLE TOUR ACROSS EUROPE - EPISODE 22: FRANCONIA GERMANY (EUROVELO 6)

We found ourselves leaving very early from Straubing as we couldn’t find a way to pay for our night. An early start towards Regensburg for the day meant we could take it easy and we even had a tourist visit to a memorial site called Walhalla. Very incredible structure! We had to go up individually as the bikes weren’t allowed on site. It was a good leg burner to get up and the view was stunning. From here we made it into Regensburg where we spent 3 nights at the canoe club. We explored the city and even met up with Lauren’s sister and partner. When we get back to cycling we discover the side of Germany that I think people come here for. The quaint and colourful villages scattered amongst the fields and hills, really changed our mind on Germany. Turning off the flat and boring Eurovelo 6 probably helped too!
