Maestro Andrea Bocelli performed 'Tace il labbro' from Franz Lehár's 'The Merry Widow' with Clara Barbier Serrano during a special concert in the amphitheatre in Pompeii on 27-28 June 2025. Presented by Community Jameel and Jameel Motors Italia, the event took place among the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, destroyed and preserved by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. The concert showcased the work of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF), featuring over 60 young singers from the ABF Voices of Italy choir and two former Bocelli-Jameel scholars, Clara Barbier Serrano and Laura Mekhail. Established in 2019 by ABF and Community Jameel to support outstanding singers from around the world to study at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, the world's top-ranked conservatoire, the Bocelli-Jameel scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and financial need. Clara was the inaugural recipient of the Bocelli-Jameel scholarship in 2020-2022.
