Turn on captions! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sable is an automatic kinetic art table made to trace patterns reminiscent of traditional Japanese-style Zen gardens. Or at least, what a five year old thinks a Zen garden is like. Designed and constructed from scratch over a course of three months, Sable employs a CNC XY base to drag a magnetic platform below the top surface. The sand plotter's metal ball then traces any given design as demonstrated in the video. If you still don't get it, its a really crappy version of that famous Kickstarter sand table: Sisyphus.
