Iconic Bantay Church and the Syquia Mansion [Northern Churches and Sites of PH Ep 5]

Hello everyone, I’m Joel Syquia and welcome to my series on Northern Churches and Sites of the Philippines, where I ride for 5 days from Manila to the Ilocos region with my friends BY and George to explore 5 churches and other interesting sites up north. In this final episode, we visit Bantay Church, which is one of the oldest churches in the Ilocos region (officially called St. Augustine Parish Church, Bantay, Ilocos Sur). It also houses the miraculous image of Virgin Mary as our Lady of Charity. Beside it is the iconic Bantay Bell Tower, which served as a watchtower during the Spanish colonial era and gave the municipality its name. We also visit the Syquia Mansion, which is another historic landmark in Vigan, and which happens to be my family's heritage home.
