It’s hard to appropriately describe what I have experienced last weekend during the 2024 NHL Mascot Showdown with my favorite mascot, huge inspiration and idol, Stanley C. Panther of my Florida Panthers. Because pictures are worth a 1,000 words, I went even further and created a video, but not just a simple video. After 7 hours of editing and going through 35 minutes of footage, here's my is my Thank You gift to Stanley C. Panther! Sit back & grab a tissue as your eyes WILL get wet while we’re going on a quest to find the answer on what or who exactly is the magic of mascotting. A testimony of the wonderful memories Stanley C. Panther creates, From spreading joy to those who need it most, to igniting a child’s endless imagination and transporting them briefly into a world of fantasy and make-believe, where a giant, soft, huggable Florida panther - right out of a bedtime story world - becomes alive to winning over a child’s heart as they hear their laughter! There are 30 NHL mascots, and Stanley C. Panther is unlike anyone else. With his simplistic, cute look and lots of soft, huggable fur, Stanley C. Panther is one of the most adorable and family-friendly sports mascots, working very well with young children. Every side is his best side and that was easy to see during the 4 days of fun during the recent NHL Mascot Showdown. Who would always hang out the longest with the fans after the daily mascot games, despite being tired and exhausted? Stanley C. Panther. Who would never stop going the extra mile for some of his most special fans? Stanley C. Panther. This video is a compilation of the magical moments I’ve had the privilege to witness around South Florida’s Coolest Cat and a gift from me to him to say thanks and offer my appreciation for how he has inspired and helped me - and many others that have the pleasure to be around the Florida Panthers mascot. Thank you, Stanley, - not only for the gift YOU gave me, but most of all, for everything you’ve done for me. You would never let me down, right until the very last second after walking out of the convention floor, hand-in-paw with me. You, Stanley C. Panther ARE the Magic of Mascotting! You are providing me moments that made it all worth to fight through my special needs childhood with countless hospital stays, therapies, doctors appointments and months in ICU. For almost two decades, Stanley C. Panther has a very special place in my heart as he went great lengths to make sure to provide me with some extra magical moments. Back in 2006, I came from Switzerland to attend a Panthers game during my Florida vacation - and randomly met Stanley – without even knowing before that a mascot would be present. I had no idea about mascots as mascotting isn’t that big in my country. That random moment of meeting Stanley C. Panther would have a lasting impact on me. I was born with a birth defect called Congenital Varicella Syndrome that has relying me on a feeding tube. Up until 2014, this condition caused me to be bedridden for up to 150 days a year. During this time, after my 1st visit to a Panthers game, I began to research about Stanley C. Panther and mascots in general and found out what they do in the community. Watching Stanley’s heartwarming content that often had him visit little kids in hospitals, do charity work or attend birthday parties, helped me smile during a difficult and dark time of my life. That‘s why he‘s so special to me, that‘s why I‘m so thankful for what he does to me & others! Thank you so much, Stanley, for all these little magical moments, the joy and smiles you spread to me during this weekend! You are truly South Florida’s Coolest Cat! Let’s Go PANTHERS!
