This video is a review of the new CKX Mission helmet. I had a great opportunity to use this helmet on a 415-420 mile sled ride in temps that never exceeded 10 F degrees during the day. We had a low of -1 F degrees during our night ride and the whole time we had high winds, blowing snow as well as a light snow fall on most of the ride. The sun appeared on our last day. I hope this video gives a little insight to the helmet and it's inner workings. Helmet cost was $495.99 W/Heated visor. I am not sponsored nor paid to promote the brand. This is my personal opinion on a helmet I have purchased. Thank you Feb 27, 2023 - UPDATE REGARDING GLASSES. I went for a ride yesterday in the NH Mountains. Riding temp was 14 F with a continuous snow fall. I do not wear glasses when I ride, but, I had numerous questions about glasses being worn in the helmet. I wear glasses when driving or reading, that is it, so I did tried wearing them this day to provide feed back. First, it is very tight when I put them on, then when it came to closing the shield, I had to play with the silicone cover attached to the shield. Because the breather sits so high on my nose, it actually interferes with my glasses slightly. I was able to close the shield eventually. I felt a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose when the shield is closed. My glasses did fog up when I closed the shield, they did not clear till I started moving on my sled. Once moving, the fog was gone. If I push up on the helmet with my shoulders to say, "re-adjust", glasses fogged up quickly because the silicone breather would lift off my nose, but cleared up quickly once the helmet is re-seated. I also found a limit to my head turning wearing the glasses. When I looked hard to my left (like road crossings), I had a lot more pressure on the bridge of my nose on the left side and this repeated looking right. So, I found it more comfortable to just turn my whole body from the waist up vs my head. I'll be honest, after an hour of riding with my glasses, I was NOT impressed. Just too much pressure around the bridge of my nose and side of the head from the glasses' arms. The helmet really pressed against my glasses into my face especially when turning my head. I ended taking off my glasses and riding the last hour with out them. I have a fat head, so for me personally I can wear them, but... I know on a long ride it is far from comfortable. Sincerely, Robert
