I didn't skip-to-destination in the game (double clicking to instantly get to a place) as I felt it would ruin the "movie experience". This was a graphical adventure game done by LucasArts in 1995. It was the 11th game using the SCUMM engine. The story started with a giant asteroid that could cause catastrophic damage upon impact on Earth. So, a team of five was tasked to plant nuclear explosives on it. Three of them left the shuttle to do that, but after some exploration they were brought to a distant planet of unknown position. The Dig had the longest development length of all LucasArts adventure games. They worked on it since 1989 but the game wasn't released until 1995. The Dig was first meant to be a movie (so I've heard), but would have been too expensive, so they made it into a game instead. Story and stuff by Steven Spielberg....
