A section of video of a test drive without filters on my Weber Mx5. After a painful drive to the video location with a decent loss of fuel and poor engine response, i decided to remove my sock filters to see if it made a difference in the mileage and performance. The current tune was based on not having filters, and i didn't want to drive without them for obvious reasons, but once the filters were off, it was amazing how much better the drive was. Upon further research the foam filters used aren't too well recommended in terms of the issue of fuel soaking into them in which i discovered post drive. Ill have to keep to my mesh & gauze filters till i can find a better solution or a better tune with the filters.
