Balltze - Cheems Funeral Video | Meme king's funeral | RIP Cheems. Cheems, the Shiba Inu dog who inspired several viral memes, dies at 12. Cheems, one of the most popular dogs on the internet, passed away at the age of 12 during surgery. The beloved Shiba Inu dog, whose real name is Balltze, was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Announcing the news on Cheems’ official Instagram account, which has 763k followers, the dog’s owners said that he died during his last thoracentesis surgery. “Ball Ball fell asleep on 18/8. He fell asleep on Friday morning during his last thoracentesis surgery,” the Instagram post read. “Originally, we wanted to arrange chemotherapy or other possible treatment for him after this surgery, but now it’s too late.” In the message, the owners also asked fans to not be sad but remember the joy that Cheems brought to the world. “A Shiba Inu with a round smiling face connecting you and me, he has helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission has been completed,” they said, adding that they believe that their beloved dog is now running freely in the sky and having a lot of delicious food with his new friends. “He will always be inside my heart. I hope he can continue to bring joy to everyone in the online world, that’s my only humble request Also, I would like to thank the medical staff who had helped Balltze for the past 6 months,” they added. Concluding, they wrote, “All of you have been very generous and helpful, and I’m truly grateful to all of you, your love and support to Ball Ball is so unconditional and I found that is the purest love in the world, having Ball Ball in my life is the best thing ever happened. The donation and brass pins money I have collected for the medical bills will be now donated to local animal charities. Thank you, everyone, thank you, Balltze knows how much he was loved by all of you.” Several people took to the comment section to share their heartfelt tributes. While one user wrote, “He is a legend of the Internet world, a meme founder and now, he is immortal. Rest in love sweet Ball Ball, you were and are loved by billions all over the world,” another commented: “I was introduced to this legend through a meme trend. It’s hard to hear about his passing a few years later. He helped many people get through 2020 and so on. His meme trend will live on to honour his life and the joy he gave everyone through these memes. Sleep well king, you will be missed.” Cheems, who was adopted by a loving family in Hong Kong, first became famous in 2017 when a photograph of him went viral worldwide. He featured a distinct appearance due to his unique overbite, causing his bottom teeth to protrude outward. This gave him a slightly goofy and adorable look. As such, his pictures were widely shared as memes during the pandemic. The name ‘Cheems’ is derived from the word ‘cheeseburger’ after his owners posted an image on Instagram talking about how much the dog loves to eat cheeseburgers.
