A medical expert has warned it's "quite likely" there are already UK-based cases of the new mpox strain which is causing concern among global health officials. Professor of Medicines Paul Hunter says the complexity of testing means it's still hard to tell the true scale in the UK. The World Health Organization declared a global health emergency this week due to it spreading to 13 African countries - where more than 15,600 cases and at least 537 deaths have been reported.
