Marcasite fire - easy, primitive - finding and testing

[2013-05-19] Fire with 2 rocks 100% primitive [ except the journey by car to go find the stones :-) ] . By chance, I stumbled upon a good marcasite (pyrite ?) nodule : "quick primitive fire" quality ! I knew I would probably find flint on the banks of the Seine river in Normandy. That was what I was verifying near Jumièges Abbey (near Rouen city). But I hadn't hypothetised that I would also find marcasite (... , actually, it may have been brought there during earthworks, as wel as the flint I found). Once open, this nodule proved to be rather crumbly (I now have only small chunks left). So I was convinced that it would never work for making fire. And instead, surprise, it yelded sparks and coals quickly and "serially" . Compared to the nodule I was using 2 years ago, it is so much easier !!! Again (as in the Normandy's chalk cliffs), marcasite and flint were found together among chalky rocks.
