In this session held on May 14, 2022, during MIT’s Better World Weekend, Daniel Huttenlocher SM ’84, PhD ’88, MIT Schwarzman College of Computing dean, remarks on how the Institute’s broad and deep strengths in life sciences, social sciences, engineering, computing, humanities, and management along with its alignment with hospitals and industry have been brought to bear on improving human health, and the significant scientific and technological breakthroughs that MIT has and will continue to pursue on a global scale. The wide-ranging conversation continues, with panel moderator Angela Belcher, James Mason Crafts Professor and Department of Biological Engineering head, joined by Dimitris Bertsimas SM ’87, PhD ’88, Boeing Professor of Operations Research; associate dean of business analytics; and faculty director, Master of Business Analytics; Li-Huei Tsai, director, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory and Picower Professor of Neuroscience; Xuanhe Zhao, professor of mechanical engineering and George N. Hatsopoulos Faculty Fellow; and Feng Zhang, James and Patricia Poitras Professor of Neuroscience, and investigator in the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT.
