This is part 7 of my NJ/CT trio series. Here is yet another random wash that I went to! We happened to stumble soon it while trying to find more washes in the area of Connecticut we were in, and decided to stop in. Fred’s was a chain of car washes located in Connecticut. I’m saying was because they recently sold most of their locations to Speeder’s/Russell Speeder’s, who are doing complete renovations to their locations. This includes removing self service bays and touch free automatics, and doing complete renovations to the tunnel, installing their typical AVW equipment setup, along with their members only vacuum & detailing supplies area. To my knowledge, this is the only remaining Fred’s location left, but it’ll soon be undergoing renovations, and will probably have the usual AVW equipment setup that Russell Speeder’s/Speeder’s uses, and the vacuums will be made for members only. This is my only con with the company. Non-members cannot use them at all, and if you do, you get kicked off the property and police are threatened to be called. (From what I saw from multiple reviews.) The equipment here seems to be Econocraft, but im not entirely sure. It has 3 sets of mitters, a set of wraps, rocker panel brushes, rinse/wax arches and a 3 producer IDC drying system. So this location has a smaller tunnel wash, as Fred’s other former sites were much larger. The wash shown in this video was the $25 Hot Wax & Shine Wash which included: *Simoniz Hot Wax & Shine *Simoniz Paint Sealant *Simoniz Foam Polish *Undercarriage Wash *High Pressure Wheel Cleaner *Tire Shine *Hand Towel Dried Wash Quality: 7/10 Comments: the wash did a decent job, however the dryers were absolutely terrible and some spots did form afterwards, but the towel drying prevented them from getting worse. This wash will probably be better once Speeders takes over.
