originally filmed 11-8-25 Crossing info: Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights. This was the first train I saw on November 8th, as I waited for just a minute, I heard the engine running in the distance, and then, I saw headlights on the rails in the distance, then, a CSX intermodal train came around the corner and then, the crossing activated! It was headed towards Birmingham and this is a video of it passing through Rock Crusher Road. So, I managed to get it after five minutes of waiting! This crossing is a rather nice one, featuring a 1990’s install which used to have a WCH mechanical bell on the right signal in the video, but then in either the 1990s or the 2000s, CSX replaced that bell with the current GS Type 1 e-bell and it sounds real classic. Hopefully it remains around for many more years to come, but, either way, I’m glad I was finally able to get it on video.
