The January 13, 2026 Korean American Day Celebration in Washington D.C. brought together leaders, innovators, and community members to honor 123 years of Korean American History and contributions. Co-hosted by the Council of Korean Americans (CKA) in partnership with the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI), the event featured welcoming remarks by CKA Board Chairman Angela Killoren and KEI President & CEO Scott Snyder, and a fireside chat with Songyee Yoon, Founder & Managing partner of Principal Venture Partners and a globally respected voice at the intersection of artificial intelligence, ethics, and innovation. Moderated by Eun Yang, Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter at NBC4 Washington, the conversation explored how AI is transforming industries, reshaping society, and challenging us to build human-centered, ethical technology—while highlighting the growing influence of Korean Americans in venture capital, global policy, and innovation ecosystems. The forum also honored Dr. Abraham Kim with the Korean American Day Award for his visionary leadership and decades of service to the community. The celebration highlighted Korean Americans' enduring role as cultural, economic, and diplomatic bridges shaping the future of U.S.-Korea relations.
