Cold Hardy Windmill Palm Care & Info

If you are like me and you love tropical plants/trees but don't live in an area that will benefit these beautiful trees then I've got a palm tree for you. The Chinese Windmill Palm or the Cold Hardy Windmill Palm is a tree you may want to check out. Now traditionally it thrives in the USDA Zones 7-10 but in the past few years, it has seen success in Zone 6 with some minor protections in place. Now if you live in an area that is colder than these aforementioned zones then don't fret! These guys are somewhat slower-growing palms and don't get crazy big. This means they make excellent container trees that don't need to be transplanted that often. Keep 'em outside during the growing seasons and then move them indoors when the weather is less than ideal!
