This gate frame was installed at a property that was on a real steep grade. The up hill side, swung into the yard, while the bottom leaf swung out into the street...yeah, kinda weird but its easier backing in trailers for him. A counter balance, in the form of a pipe with a weight that travels up and down connected by a cable on the uphill side will be installed so as the gate can't self destruct if it gets away from them. It also makes it so you need about 10 pounds of force to open it. After the client hangs his fence boards, I will come by with a scale and measure how many pound of resistance it takes to fight gravity and we will make the weight in the pipe a few pounds more.
