Day 1 in the Scottish Highlands ended in a way we never expected. What started as a peaceful winter stop at a hidden gem in Glen Nevis turned into an evening filled with suspense, flashing lights, and finally — the most magical moment of spotting Highland cows in their natural habitat. With the sun setting behind the mountains and the moon slowly rising, we weren’t even sure if we should continue towards Glen Nevis Estate. Seeing an air ambulance and police on the scene reminded us how wild and powerful these landscapes truly are. But sometimes, the best moments come when you don’t give up. From frosty rivers and quiet mountain roads to finally spotting the iconic Highland cows grazing freely — this winter drive through Glen Nevis felt unreal. We ended Day 1 tired but grateful, cooking a warm meal with family and looking forward to more adventures.
