New Mexico to Arizona: Exploring the Petrified Forest & Winslow, Arizona then the Meteor Crater! Welcome back to our travel vlog! In this episode, we continue our journey through the magnificent landscapes of New Mexico and into Winslow, Arizona. Starting Off in Gallup, NM We woke up in Gallup, where we parked overnight and took a moment to enjoy the beautiful snowy mountains. The scenery here is just gorgeous—full of vibrant colors and incredible views. We did a quick stop at a travel center, but the parking was limited, so we moved to TA nearby. Exploring the Petrified Forest Our first main stop was the Petrified Forest National Park. The moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking views and crystal-clear blue skies. Did you know that these ancient trees turned into petrified wood over millions of years? It's a remarkable process! The colors of the petrified wood are simply stunning—ranging from deep reds to vibrant blues—almost like nature's own art gallery. As we wandered through the park, we spotted petroglyphs—ancient rock carvings that tell the stories of those who walked this land long ago. It’s fascinating to think about the history embedded in these rocks, dating back over 13,000 years! The structure and the natural formations around here are awe-inspiring. You can almost feel the whispers of history as you walk among the trees that are now solid stone. Each corner of the park offers a new view that feels like stepping onto another planet. Winslow, Arizona – A Route 66 Must-See After our time in the Petrified Forest, we headed to Winslow, Arizona, as we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit a place made famous by a song! Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66 made our stop even more special. In the heart of Winslow, we stood on the corner that inspired the Eagles' classic song. With a big "66" on the ground, it was the perfect photo op! The local shops and friendly atmosphere made it a charming place to relax and enjoy the music played around town. Wrapping Up for the Day After a fantastic day of adventure, we’re on the lookout for a nice spot to grab some lunch—as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast! We can’t wait to share more of our journey with you, so stay tuned for the next leg of our road trip! Thanks for joining us on this adventure—don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more explorations and hidden gems across the country! Until next time! 🌲🚐❤️ van dwelling #vanlife #vetranvanlife #Travel Vanlife self converted self built married van life veteran van life Travel vlog Travel video van renovation van build
