St Josaphat Iconography

The Byzantine art tradition of two millennia and the dreams of a community, as well as my own, come into focus at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Parma, Ohio. Planning any iconography project is a serious task, but one that covers 15,000 sq. feet up to 6 stories high requires planning, skill and tenacity. It all starts on paper, considers every possible challenge and then moves daily towards conceiving, producing and installing king sized images in a space that needs to convey the Kingdom. This video shows the models, the space and my methodology through animation. With great planning you can expect a the best possible outcome but it still takes blessings and the help of an angel or two to transform a historic church into a completed sacred space, a dream that begn 37 years ago.
