Hey hey hey everybody! Lifetime Train Boy here again and today December 8, 2025 marks two years since I captured BNSF Railway GE C44-9W locomotives Nos. 677 and 641 idling and then departing BNSF's Union Yard in Minneapolis with a local freight train! At about 1:50 pm on Friday December 8, 2023, I was walking west from my workplace to Dinkytown in Minneapolis to catch the next Metro Transit Route 3 bus. As I crossed 23rd Avenue Southeast, I spotted a Santa Fe Warbonnet GE C44-9W stopped in BNSF Railway's Union Yard at the dead-end of the avenue. I was so entranced and captivated that I decided to walk over to the spot where I could see the locomotive parked. When I got there, I found it, No. 677, along with fellow C44-9W No. 641, idling at a standstill and immediately started filming! In the segment where I placed my phone on the ground, I needed to put my gloves on. After about 10 or so minutes, a BNSF Railway crew showed up and soon the two 1994 Santa Fe Super Fleet veterans began pulling out! As an added bonus, before the 677 and 641 began throttling up out of the yard, I managed to get a glimpse of the Union Pacific Y-SPBN yard transfer working UP's nearby East Minneapolis Yard! If that was not enough, the massive, abandoned grain elevator beside UP's East Minneapolis Yard was in the process of being demolished. Locomotives shown: 1) BNSF GE C44-9W No. 677 (built in August 1994) 2) BNSF GE C44-9W No. 641 (built in March 1994) Thank you so much for watching this video!
