Kooyong is one of the largest and oldest tennis clubs in the world and is known as the 'spiritual home of Australian tennis'. The tennis club near Melbourne has over 9,500 members and 54 courts. The Australian Open Tennis Tournament was played on grass, here at the Kooyong Tennis Club until 1977. When we were in Australia for the Open, we checked out the club and took in a drill session. The grass courts are only open on weekends so we had to do the session on clay. But the experience of playing at this legendary club was amazing.
