Gediminas Gelgotas – Never ignore the cosmic ocean Lithuanian Polish Youth Orchestra Vilnius University Choir Pro Musica recording from the concert commemorating the 230th anniversary of declaration of the Constitution of 3 May; Vilnius Town Hall, May 1st 2021 LITHUANIAN POLISH YOUTH ORCHESTRA The Lithuanian Polish Youth Orchestra was established in 2019 to celebrate and emphasize the importance of cultural and diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Poland in the region and Europe, also to mark the 450th anniversary of the signing of the Lublin Union. The core of the newly formed orchestra consists of the members of the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra NICO alongside with the most talented students and graduates of the music academies of the two neighboring countries, the winners of many international competitions. Orchestra exclusively performs the repertoire of Lithuanian and Polish music. The string orchestra is initiated and led by a Lithuanian composer and conductor of young generation Gediminas Gelgotas. In 2021 the concerts of the orchestra are planned for celebrating the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of May 3rd, 1791 - the date that is of a great importance for both Lithuania and Poland. The Lithuanian Polish Youth Orchestra is supported by Vilnius City Municipality.
