PART TWO:    • THE SAINT STEPS IN TO COLOUR: The Roa...   Running on ITV between 1962 and 1969, The Saint was a worldwide hit, featuring the exploits of Simon Templar, a modern day Robin Hood who protected the powerless and dispensed justice using methods the conventional authorities never could. The series bolstered Sir Roger Moore's star name and setting him up for a future as James Bond. Based on the literary character created by Leslie Charteris, the series was devised for television by Robert S. Baker and Monty Berman and produced for Lew Grade's ITC. Filmed in 2006, the documentary The Saint Steps In... To Colour features producer Robert S. Baker (Gideon's Way, The Fiction Makers, Crossplot, The Persuaders), director Roy Ward Baker (A Night to Remember, Quatermass and the Pit, Moon Zero Two, Scars of Dracula), production manager and producer Johnny Goodman (Danger UXB, Minder), and James Bond himself Roger Moore (The Wild Geese, The Spy Who Loved Me, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, The Cannonball Run, Octopussy) .
