Amicalola Falls: AT Approach Trail and the Hike Inn Trail Loop

Music: “Walk With Me” by Jesus Culture My brother-n-law, Bill and I went on a day hike beginning at the Amicalola Falls State Park. We began our hike behind the Visitor Center at the famous AT Approach Trail arch. Here we made our way to the base of the falls pool and started the climb up the 600+ stairs. The Amicalola Falls were spectacular. No matter how many times I experience this waterfall I am always impressed by its beauty. We then took the AT Approach Trail about 5 miles to the intersection with the Hike Inn Trail where we headed to the Hike Inn around a one mile hike. The Hike Inn is a neat spot with lots of Appalachian Trail history. Definitely worth a visit. We took advantage of this location for a cool spot to have lunch before hitting the trail back to the Amicalola Falls SP near 5 miles. This loop gave us a total of around 12 miles back to our vehicle. What a wonderful hike enjoying the trail with family! Thank you for hiking with Sleeves! Keep Hiking!
