It's Morgaine here with today's painting video, and this week I'll be sharing with you how to paint this gorgeously ruby-red sunset in watercolour. Equipment List: today I'm painting on Millford brand watercolour paper, cold pressed, size a quarter imperial or 28cm x 30cm, weight 140lb or 300gsm. The colours I'm using are: Alizarin Crimson Hue, Ultramarine, Raw Sienna, Perylene Green, Indigo, and Payne's Grey. I also use Pebeo brand drawing gum and a 5p coin for the sun technique. The brushes I'm using are: a Daler Rowney Aquafine 2 inch flat wash brush; an Escoda Ultimo synthetic mop brush size 14; a pair of Princeton Neptune synthetic round brushes size 12 and 4; a Pro Arte sword liner brush size Small; a Matthew Palmer Tree & Texture brush size Large; a Daler Rowney Aquafine fan brush size 2; and a Pro Arte Masterstrokes Series 60 miniature brush size 4/0.
