The first time I encountered this piece was on a transpacific flight, while listening to the discography of La Stagione Frankfurt in search of their recording of Telemann's G major 'Grillen-Symphonie' Sinfonia (TWV 50:1) (which is quite a good recording, though I prefer Ensemble Caprice). Orchestrated for two flutes, two horns, strings, and basso continuo, and composed in 1767, the movement breakdown of TWV 50:21 is as follows: I. Allegro II. La réveille. Vivement III. La conversation à la table. Gavotte IV. Réveille à Chasse V. Repas VI. Retraite The final movement 'Retraite' is particularly charming, and I find it fitting that this movement -- glorious and sonorous -- began playing as I neared the end of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, many miles above the sea.
