Hi my loves, this is a short film about the Magic Of Finnish Sauna! ♡Instagram:   / anniinavivian   "Since I was a little girl, sauna has always been a part of my everyday life. Just like it is for most of us Finns. Now many years later, while I’ve been away from my home land for almost 5 years, I have missed the healing solitude and silence that sauna has always given me. This summer I’m filled with joy, first of all, to be able to share the magic of sauna with my husband who traveled with me to Finland for the first time. And secondly not just any sauna, but an old traditional smoke sauna. It feels exciting and humbling to think that in this very sauna, many many years ago, women gave birth to their children and people who had passed away, were given their final bath. For Finns, saunas used to be present in every step of their lives. Hundreds of old tales tell stories of the sauna spirits, who lived in the sauna, and the ways people needed to keep the spirits happy so they wouldn’t harm the saunas or the people using them. We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday sitting in the gentle steam of the smoke sauna. when he told me he had fallen in love with it all, the löyly, the smell of smoke mingling with the scents of tar and birch leaves, the warm quiet summer nights, I knew he had not only fallen in love with sauna, but also a part of my heart that holds the memories of my ancestors."
