About the talk: Testing a Shiny application has historically been difficult to achieve and even harder to debug when things go wrong. {shinytest2} is a new R package that facilitates the testing of Shiny applications using {testthat}. Using {testthat} edition 3, {shinytest2} can capture app values and screenshots and compare them to expected snapshots. In addition, {shinytest2} uses {chromote} under the hood to render the Shiny application with a headless Chrome browser. Users can directly view this headless browser to easily see the current state of their Shiny application. Finally, with {shinytest2}'s {shinytest} test migration function, users will be able to port their existing {shinytest} tests into {shinytest2} expectations. {shinytest2} allows you to test your modern-day Shiny application using modern-day tools.
