After two years of online events and a reset of the global economy, 2023 Economic Outlook powered by ATB Financial returned in person on Wednesday, October 19 with a new format and the latest insights into Calgary's future in a changing world. The theme for the event addressed a critical question for our city: Is Calgary well-positioned for the transitioning economy? Attendees heard from leaders including Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Brad Parry, President & CEO, Calgary Economic Development and top economists including Rob Roach, Deputy Chief Economist from our presenting sponsor ATB Financial, Alex Grassino, Head of North American Macro Strategy, Manulife Investment Management and Ann-Marie Lurie, Chief Economist for the Calgary Real Estate Board. Guest speakers also included Bryce Starlight, Vice President, Development, Taza Development Corp., Paula Calderon, Chief Executive Officer, Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association and Jon Cornish, Chancellor of the University of Calgary.
