The selection of live tracks that were recorded in 1977 and released on his "Moody Blue" album were all subjected to considerable additional studio overdubs before release. This clip, believe it or not, is the actual version of "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)" featured on the "Moody Blue" album. It was recorded by RCA in The Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo, Michigan, on 26 April 1977, and this how it would have sounded if you had been in the arena that Spring evening. Additional drums, guitar, piano and bass overdubs were added at The Soundmaster studio in Nashville under the supervision of Felton Jarvis and Bill Harris before release on the album. Elvis brought two songs by Olivia Newton John into his setlist in 1974. The first of those was 'Let Me Be There' which was introduced in the January 1974 Las Vegas engagement during the opening show on January 26. The second of those two sings to be introduced into hias setlist was 'If You Love Me (Let Me Know)' and the latter would have a longer presence in Elvis' repertoire. It would often be used as an alternate with 'Fairytale' in the later concerts of the 70's. Whilst 'Let Me Be There' was heard on an album the same year as it was introduced, on the 'Live in Memphis' album, 'If You Love Me' would have to wait until his final studio album 'Moody Blue' where it was used as an album filler as RCA did not have enough material from the Jungle Room sessions to complete two albums. Elvis never recorded either song in the studio but thanks to both unofficial and official releases, the latter through FTD, there are now plenty versions of both songs to be heard.
