Jukebox Alive, with the help of a mighty Wurlitzer jukebox, presents a new and improved video of Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs singing their 1966 smash hit Li'l Red Riding Hood. Unlike other online versions of Sam singing this song, there is no Betty Boop or any other cartoon filler. It is all Sam, his band and the '60s go-go girls. This video was created from the best DVD source material I could locate. For the record, this performance was from the Milton Berle show on Sept. 23, 1966. That night the band performed a medley of "Li'l Red Riding Hood" and his then more recent hit "Hair On My Chinny Chin Chin." Prior to this video, since the song had been abbreviated at the time, editors had filled in the gaps with cartoon characters. Personal Notes: I remember Li'l Red Riding Hood" as a giant hit from the summer of 1966. There are only a few videos of Sam the Sham performing this one, so I am posting it for historical purposes.
