In this powerful video, we discuss a shocking story from a village in Gujarat, where, even 78 years after independence, Dalits were not allowed to cut their hair in their own village. The village, Alwada, in Banaskantha district, had a population of 6,500, of which 250 were Dalits. For generations, these Dalits were ostracized by the village barbers and forced to travel to other villages for basic needs, hiding their identity in the process. But on August 7, 24-year-old Kirti Chauhan, a Dalit agricultural laborer, became the first person to cut his hair at the village saloon. What led to this change? It was the tireless efforts of activist Chetan Dabhii, who had been engaging with the so-called upper-caste villagers and educating them about constitutional rights. When discussions failed, the matter was brought to the police, and the district administration intervened, helping to break this deeply rooted caste bias. Kirti Chauhan proudly said, “For the first time in years, I sat at the barber’s shop in my own village. That day, I felt freedom and acceptance.” However, this breakthrough is a bittersweet reminder of how deeply caste discrimination remains ingrained in society. While the village has made a significant step forward, Dalit farmers like Ishwar Chauhan still face discrimination in communal meals, where they are still made to sit separately. This isn't just a story from Gujarat — similar discrimination is seen in many other parts of India, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. As we talk about being a global leader, development, and progress, why do we continue to fight in the name of caste and religion? The deeply embedded caste mindset continues to affect not only our society but also our politics. The question now is — Do you see similar discrimination in your home or village? Let’s reflect on this issue together. #castediscrimination #dalitrights #socialjustice #IndiaCasteSystem #casteequality #ProgressInIndia #FreedomForDalits #socialreform #indiapolitics #equalityforall #CasteBias #indiasociety #BreakingCasteBias #SocialChangeIndia #GujaratVillageStory #InjusticeInIndia #CasteStruggle #CasteInIndia #dalitempowerment ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📲 Available on: • Molitics App (iOS) – Molitics App IOS • Molitics App (Android) – Molitics App Android • Website – www.molitics.in
