One Brother Killed, Second Injured in Scooter Crash

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 3/24/2025 at 3pm LOCATION: Warm Springs & Torrey Pines AREA/CITY: Las Vegas DETAILS: Press Release From LVMPD: On Monday, March 24, 2025, at approximately 3:11 p.m., a fatal injury collision occurred between an automobile and two electric scooters (stand-up style). Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and surveillance video indicated that a 2017 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Warm Springs Road, approaching the intersection with Torrey Pines Drive. Two electric scooters were traveling southbound on Torrey Pines Drive on the left of two travel lanes approaching the intersection with Warm Springs Road. A collision occurred when all parties entered the intersection, causing the first electric scooter to collide with the left front of the Toyota. The second scooter rider collided with the left rear fender. Emergency Medical Services and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to the scene. They transported both scooter riders to the University Medical Center Trauma Center. Despite all life-saving efforts, the 22-year-old rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The juvenile rider remains at UMC in critical condition. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment. The scooter rider’s death marks the 39th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
