This video is completely dedicated to the Comeng EMU. The Comeng fleet were built between 1981 to 1989 and are the backbone of the Melbourne suburban rail network. In this video we explore at the interior of both types of Comeng and see them in action. Due to public transport rebranding in the 80's and privatisation in the late 90's, these trains have served under many different operators and had a variety of liveries applied to them. Today Metro Trains Melbourne operates the fleet. Privatisation also led to Melbourne having two different rail operators at the one time who both refurbished their Comeng fleet differently. Operator M Train had their fleet refurbished by EDI Rail whilst Connex had their trains refurbished by Alstom.
