I DID THE MT LEINSTER HERITAGE DRIVE.

On a wet Windy Sunday in February 2026, I went up the Mt Leinster Heritage Drive. I went through the villages of Bagenastown, Fenagh, Borris and Myshall. I was really scared on a stretch of the road due to fear of heights but I kept going on the motto, " feel the fear and do it anyway". It was a narrow stretch, up high with a heart wrenching drop looking down the panoramic views. I came across at least a handful of people doing the Columbanus way and a few families out as well. I didn't see any cyclists.It was probably too wet and windy for cycling. I kept driving with the intention of coming back the same route so as to capture photos of a couple of interesting views and stone walls that I noted on my way. Unfortunately, I missed my way back due to poor tracking.
