Pursuing a PhD in Australia is like..!!! | What They Have to Say

This is another episode of Re-search Life interview series, where Ph.D. fellows and students are invited to discuss their experiences and achievements of their PhD journeys. Today we have Dr. Ruchini Jayasinghe and Dr. Kaushalya Weththasinghe with us. These two young doctors started their journey in academia by completing the first degree, B.Sc. (honours) in Quantity Surveying at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka with a first-class. Both of them worked as temporary lecturers at the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa. In 2016, they were awarded full Ph.D. scholarships by two reputable universities in Australia. Dr. Ruchini Jayasinghe completed her Ph.D. in Construction Management at University of South Australia. She is currently working as a teaching academic at the same university. Dr. Kaushalya Weththasinghe completed her Ph.D. in Architecture, Building and Planning at University of Melbourne. She is currently working as a casual researcher at Deakin University.
