We left Osaka at 3am, but arrived at the trailhead at 7:30am, so it was a long climb. Even before heading to the trailhead by car, there were many signboards for the Nenotomariyama trailhead. The trailhead is right in front of the parking space, and it is suddenly a steep climb. This is dangerous. It feels like an untrodden, rugged mountain that keeps people away. And once we finally made it to the summit... "Welcome! Hooray, hooray!" We were greeted by a super cute yellow mouse. There seem to be several theories about the origin of the mountain's name. Neodomariyama is also known as "Zokouyama," and it is said to have originated from the fact that Heike warrior "Akai Zoramitsu" stayed there. Rugged yet cute.
