LOOK: Isabela Vice Mayoral bet files counter-affidavit on Comelec's cyber libel complaint | ANC

On The Scene: Reina Mercedes, Isabela Vice Mayoral candidate Atty. Harold Respicio filed Thursday (March 13) a counter-affidavit at the Manila City Prosecutor's Office on the cyber libel case filed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The complaint stemmed from a video Respicio posted on social media in January, allegedly demonstrating how to hack the automated counting machines (ACMs) for the 2025 midterm elections. In the 45-page counter-affidavit, Respicio argued that "the charges seem to be veiled attempts at regulating free speech in the guise of a criminal complaint." Respicio stood by his comments which he says were a "constructive suggestion" to Comelec to beef up its internal rules on election security. He stressed he had no malice in his remarks and sought to improve election integrity.
