As part of future improvements, Pinal County Public Works has begun installing fencing along the newly acquired right-of-way on Peralta Road through State Trust Land to the Peralta Trailhead. “To do the road improvements, it has to be fenced,” Pinal County District 5 Supervisor Jeff Serdy said. “That’s one of State Trust Lands requirements.” As part of these changes, the Wave Cave/ Carney Springs parking will be closed on March 2, 2026. All State Land permit holders are encouraged to park at the Lost Goldmine Trailhead or the Peralta Trail parking areas. “That was never an official parking lot,” Serdy said, referring to the Wave Cave parking area. Peralta Road through State Trust Land is planned to be paved in 2028, dependent on Federal grant funding.
