Set to start filming later this year for a holiday release is the upcoming Christmas slasher, Silent Night, Deadly Night. Written for the screen and directed by Mike P. Nelson, the film — based on a screenplay by Michael Hickey and story by Paul Caimi — is a remake of the 1984 horror film of the same name, about a young man who suffers from PTSD over witnessing his parents' murder on Christmas Eve by a man disguised as Santa Claus and his subsequent upbringing in an abusive Catholic orphanage. In adulthood, the Christmas season leads him into a psychological breakdown, and he emerges as a spree killer donning a Santa suit. Scott J. Schneid, Dennis Whitehead, Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie produce the film, while Anthony Masi, Steven Schneider, Sarah Eilts, Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Brandon Hill, and Brad Miska serve as executive producers. A Sixth Dimension, MasiMedia, and Room 101, Inc. production, the film will be distributed domestically by Cineverse and internationally by StudioCanal.
