1. Product Overview The Melt Flow Index Tester is designed in accordance with ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238 for the determination of melt mass-flow rate (MFR) of thermoplastic materials. The instrument measures melt flow rate using an automatic sampling and weighing method, and calculates the final melt flow index based on standard formulas. Test results are displayed on the LCD screen and can be printed via the built-in micro-printer. The tester provides stable temperature control, accurate load application, and reliable measurement performance. It is suitable for testing engineering plastics and general-purpose plastics with relatively low melting temperatures. 2. Application The instrument is used for melt flow rate testing of thermoplastic materials, including but not limited to: Polyethylene (PE) Polypropylene (PP) Polyacetal (POM) Polystyrene (PS) ABS resin Polycarbonate (PC) Nylon (PA) Fluoroplastics 3. Test Procedures (1) Install the die, piston, and barrel according to the test standard and select the appropriate test load. (2) Set the test temperature and allow the barrel to reach thermal equilibrium. (3) Charge the test material into the barrel and install the piston and selected weights. (4) Start the test and perform automatic or time-controlled cutting as configured. (5) The instrument automatically measures and calculates the melt mass-flow rate. (6) Test results are displayed on the LCD screen and can be printed if required.
