I think it's dark how we find it beautiful, how the leaves slowly die out through the fall. Our satisfaction acts as proof as we bend and crack them beneath our shoes. There's been a bit of a rustle lately and our skin's getting tough. We remember better days, vaguely; when we always had enough and we looked down on all that we decided was ours, felt so powerful in our ivory towers. but now we're aging. Things are changing; all my friends are going crazy. There's a breeze, but we're all drowning. One by one, I see them taken. Losing numbers; we're forsaken. It's not just me, we're all browning. We thought we'd live forever, but we were dying then. Maybe this is better than what we did to them. We'll try, we'll try to teach you right; you might decide to leave us behind.
