Psalm singing is ingrained in Scottish culture, particularly since post-Reformation time, which was more widespread and thorough in Scotland than in England. Whilst Gaelic Psalm singing is a unique sound all in its own, the Scots and English speaking churches have a particular devotion to these biblical songs. The 'Scottish Psalter' was the hymn book of many of the Scottish churches for hundreds of years and some streams still sing only the psalms Here I sing Psalm 23 to the beautiful melody 'Martyrdom' at Sannox Christian Centre where I work. I sang this psalm up in the Glen Sannox in June 2021 when I first sensed I was maybe being called to return home and work in the island. This song is in the public domain.
